The Fight For Restoration!
1 restoring restored: as a: a bringing back to a former position or condition : reinstatement <the restoration of peace> b: restitution c: a restoring to an unimpaired or improved condition
Joel 2: 24 And the [threshing] floors shall be full of grain and the vats shall overflow with juice [of the grape] and oil.
25 And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten — the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you.
26 And you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord, your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall never be put to shame.
There are some battles you were never intended to fight.
I Samuel 30:1-30
Violated
30:1 NOW WHEN David and his men came home to Ziklag on the third day, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid on the South (the Negeb) and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag and burned it with fire,
Have you ever made an evaluation of your house and life and found that an enemy has been in your camp? Have you looked over what use to be and realized that all is not right? Well you’ve been burned, by somebody or something! You’ve been struck and somebody has taken what belongs to you!
Wives and Children
2 And had taken the women and all who were there, both great and small, captive. They killed no one, but carried them off and went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the town, and behold, it was burned, and their wives and sons and daughters were taken captive.
Wives
They have taken your wives and they represent what you love. The women in your life represent that which you are passionate about. Have you started to wonder what happen to all my passion and zeal for life? Sometimes it seems you can’t find the thing for which you are living. That something that sets you on fire! Something you lust after and care for has been taken from you and deep inside you want it back.
Someone needs to say I want my passion back!
Children
Children represent that which is your future. Your future is your legacy that which means the most to you. Everyone is secretly hoping for a better future. You can feel the assault on your future by the enemy. He spends so much time trying to steel our future. There is an assault on your dreams, to try to steal them away. There is an attempt to get you to make a dummy move to get you to forfeit your inheritance of promise future. The enemy want to know if he can get you to make bad decisions today to take away your tomorrow.
Look at your enemy today and tell him I’m reclaiming my future today. Say I want my children. They will turn out By God!
Depressed and Oppressed!
4 Then David and the men with him lifted up their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep.
Have you ever cried and been some depressed you had no strength? So down you couldn’t move? Somebody say, I feel that way right now Pastor
Tell the enemy I’m reclaiming my joy today.
Stressed out and In Danger
5 David's two wives also had been taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail, the widow of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
Have you ever had so much pressure you feared for your livelihood and life? You’re stressed out, tired and mad things aren’t working. Everyone including your wife is looking at you saying what the heck is going on around here!
Strengthened Himself in the Lord
Sometimes you just have to get with God all by yourself and do for yourself what no one else can do. Get in there with God and let him tell you everything is going to be alright!
Inquire, Pursue, Overtake, Recover!
7 David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray you, bring me the ephod. And Abiathar brought him the ephod.
8 And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? The Lord answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.
On your road to restoration, check with God and let him help you plan your comeback! Whatever he tells you go with all your might! You can do it. You are capable. I know you have suffered a setback, but pursue your life and dream, catch up, and overtake that which belongs to you. You have be determined that I will do what God originally said I could do. I will have what God originally said I could have. David would have to carry this spirit all the way to kingship.
Other People are Depending on Your Restoration
9 So David went, he and the 600 men with him, and came to the brook Besor; there those remained who were left behind.
10 But David pursued, he and 400 men, for 200 stayed behind who were too exhausted and faint to cross the brook Besor.
21 And David came to the 200 men who were so exhausted and faint that they could not follow [him] and had been left at the brook Besor [with the baggage]. They came to meet David and those with him, and when he came near to the men, he saluted them.
22 Then all the wicked and base men who went with David said, Because they did not go with us, we will give them nothing of the spoil we have recovered, except that every man may lead away his wife and children and depart.
23 David said, You shall not do so, my brethren, with what the Lord has given us. He has preserved us and has delivered into our hands the troop that came against us.
24 Who would listen to you in this matter? For as is the share of him who goes into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike.
The thing I love about God is that he doesn’t use perfect people. He uses people who were messed up until God help them! Oh come on you know you were messed up before God got a hold of you!. Then he send those people, who have much love and appreciation out to get others and restore there life.
Don’t you know why God saved you and changed your life? You were restored so because God wanted you to give spoils to those who could get them for themselves. How dare you not give them their share, because they were to weak to recover themselves. It was God who restored you and helped you to recover. Not give your life to help them get restored!!!!
It was God who heal you, now come on and help someone get healed.
It was God who restored you finances so come on and help someone get restored.
It was God who saved your children so come on and help someone get to their children.
It was God who healed your wounded heart so come on and help someone heals theirs.
It was God who helped you get over your Parents divorce so help somebody
It was God who got you off the streets so help somebody get off the streets.
It was God who got you off drugs help somebody get off drugs.!!!
He Choose Messed up You
I Cor. 1: 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Wash his feet with tears!
Luke 7: 36 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharisee's house and reclined at table.
37 And behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).
38 And standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with [her] tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet [affectionately] and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).
39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw it, he said to himself, If this Man were a prophet, He would surely know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him — for she is a notorious sinner (a social outcast, devoted to sin).
40 And Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it.
41 A certain lender of money [at interest] had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 When they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?
43 Simon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly.
44 Then turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
45 You gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased [intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.
46 You did not anoint My head with[cheap, ordinary] oil, but she has anointed My feet with[costly, rare] perfume.
47 Therefore I tell you, her sins, many [as they are], are forgiven her — because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little.
48 And He said to her, Your sins are forgiven!
18 David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken and rescued his two wives.
19 Nothing was missing, small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything that had been taken; David recovered all .
20 Also David captured all the flocks and herds [which the enemy had], and the people drove those animals before him and said, This is David's spoil.
Prodigal Son.
Luke 15:11 And He said, There was a certain man who had two sons;
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the part of the property that falls [to me]. And he divided the estate between them. [Deut 21:15-17.]
13 And not many days after that, the younger son gathered up all that he had and journeyed into a distant country, and there he wasted his fortune in reckless and loose [from restraint] living.
14 And when he had spent all he had, a mighty famine came upon that country, and he began to fall behind and be in want.
15 So he went and forced (glued) himself upon one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed hogs.
16 And he would gladly have fed on and filled his belly with the carob pods that the hogs were eating, but [they could not satisfy his hunger and] nobody gave him anything [better]. [Jer 30:14.]
17 Then when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have enough food, and [even food] to spare, but I am perishing (dying) here of hunger!
18 I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.
19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; [just] make me like one of your hired servants.
20 So he got up and came to his [own] father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with pity and tenderness [for him]; and he ran and embraced him and kissed him [fervently].
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son [I no longer deserve to be recognized as a son of yours]!
22 But the father said to his bond servants, Bring quickly the best robe (the festive robe of honor) and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. [Gen 41:42; Zech 3:4.]
23 And bring out that [wheat-]fattened calf and kill it; and let us revel and feast and be happy and make merry,
24 Because this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found! And they began to revel and feast and make merry.
Psalms 118: 22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
23 This is from the Lord and is His doing; it is marvelous in our eyes
